
The University of Prince Edward Island Campus Card is the official photo identification card at UPEI and provides the University Community with a high-quality, user-friendly card system that allows convenient and efficient access to all, present and planned card related services.
The Campus Card contains a smart chip on the front and a magnetic stripe on the back. To date, the chip is used for prepaid services such as photocopying and laundry facilities in residence. The magnetic stripe includes information pertaining to meal plans and access to the Young Sports Centre.
The card also allows you to check out books, request material and reserve study rooms at the Robertson Library, gain access to the the CARI facility (September to April). New and expanded uses of the card will be incorporated, as the need arises.
All UPEI student, faculty and staff are issued their first Campus Card at no charge. The Card can be used at the Robertson Library, the Young Sports Centre, Food Services locations on-campus, Residences and restricted access to buildings on-campus and for identification purposes at the UPEI Bookstore (i.e., employee discounts, debiting student accounts, product-related discounts for students). Unless otherwise authorized by the student, the photo used for the Card is also used for photographic class lists and may be requested by faculty (for details see http://www.upei.ca/projects/files/projects/Campus_Card_Photographic_List.pdf).
