The UPEI Campus Card is the University’s official photo identification card and it is recommended that it be carried at all times by employees and students. In the short term, the Campus Card will not replace current proximity-based access cards
The Campus Card is to be used ONLY by the person to whom it is issued. If used by anyone else, for any reason, the card may be refused and confiscated. This Policy is to ensure the personal security and information of each cardholder.
Meal Plan
The Campus Card, when used for the meal program, is for scheduled meal plans and/or a declining balance account. As you use the card, the full amount of each purchase will be deducted from the balance on your meal card account.
Non-residence food service patrons will be required to pay in advance the amount due for any of the meal plan choices.
If the entire amount on a Meal Plan is not used, there will be no refund given at the end of each semester. If a student on the meal plan leaves during the semester or if an individual wishes to discontinue the meal plan, a pro-rated amount will be refunded.
Registered residence students and food service patrons wishing to purchase a meal plan program should contact Jonathan Oliver at Residence, Food and Conference Services(joliver@upei.ca or 566-0570).
Residence Laundry Facilities
The laundry equipment located in all three residence buildings is now activated by using money on the smart chip of the Campus Card. Money can be added to the smart chip at the cash card loader located in the lobby of the new residence.
Robertson Library
The Campus Card may be used to photocopy, purchase overheads, cover stock, diskettes, etc. and to pay library fines. Patrons can add value to the card for library usage using the Cash Card Manager located in the lobby of the Library. We recommend that you put no more than $20 on your Campus Card. Remember that if your card is lost or stolen, the balance on the card will also be lost.
Sports Centre
The Campus Card is required to access the UPEI Sports Centre, the Fitness Centre and to sign out equipment.
Restricted Access to On-Campus Buildings
Card authorization and activation only takes place after the following:
